ABOUT THE VOLCANO VAPORIZER

Engineered under the highest manufacturing standards, the German-made Volcano Classic by Storz & Bickel has remained one of the best desktop vaporizers since its introduction to the American market in 2003. Equipped with advanced features such as precision temperature control, convection heating, and an easy-to-use balloon bag system, the Volcano vaporizer offers elite level vapor quality, convenience, and reliability.

Boasting a powerful convection heating system, the Volcano delivers extremely pure vapor. In fact, 95% of its output consists of the compounds found in dry herb. The fidelity of its vapor makes the Volcano a popular tabletop device for medicinal and recreational users alike.

The Volcano Classic Vaporizer features an advanced balloon bag filling system. This enables users to take hits in a more portable manner from surgical-grade silicone balloon bags. Each bag lasts between 50 and 100 uses. One bowl of dry herb will fill around 3 to 4 balloon bags. The Volcano Classic now ships with the new Easy Valve system which combines the best of the older Solid Valve and Easy Valve systems. These valve systems allow for easy filling in an efficient manner.

Volcano Vaporizer Solid vs Easy Valve

The customer’s preferences and requirements were taken into consideration when developing the Easy Valve. The Easy Valve is characterized by very easy handling and minimal maintenance work. Attaching a new balloon to the valve is no longer required, as the Easy Valve comes as a ready to use valve balloon unit including mouthpiece. Once the Easy Valve can no longer be used, you simply replace the old with a new one. The Hassle-free set up benefits those looking for a low maintenance option. Eschewing the time-consuming task of cutting a bag to size and attaching it to the solid valve, the Easy Valve set for the Volcano Classic Vaporizer allows for rapid change of your vaporizer bag, ensuring optimum performance. The starter set is delivered with 5 Easy Valve balloons and the appropriate filling chamber. The Easy Valve filling chamber is cleaned and re-used.

The Solid Valve is the standard Volcano Vaporizer valve and has sold in the tens of thousands. One can choose its individual balloon size as the Solid Valve Set comes with a box of 3 meters of balloon material. Using the Solid Valve, the replacement of the balloon is kind of tricky and needs some experience, but the Solid Valve provides a less expensive long-term option, as the balloon material can be bought for a reasonable price. The Solid Valve also boasts an unrivaled customization experience as the user can create a bag of any size they wish. This option is perfect for all sorts of consumption, from mini bags for personal use, to room size bags for those mega share sessions. The Solid Valve is the perfect choice for the vapor enthusiast looking to add some customization to their vaping experience.

High Quality German Engineering

Representing German engineering at its finest, the Volcano Vaporizer by Storz & Bickel is the ultimate desktop vaporizer for botanicals. Known as one of the top products in vaporization, the Volcano Vaporizer features superb build quality. This award-winning desktop vaporizer is crafted under extremely high manufacturing standards. The result is an impressively low defect rate, along with some of the purest vapor available.

The Volcano’s refined design and industry-leading vapor production deliver a remarkable vaporization experience. A food-safe aluminum heating block and high quality heating element deliver incredibly pure, potent vapor every session. The superior build quality ensures you’ll be enjoying the same level of vapor production for years to come.

Medical Grade Vaporizer

The Volcano Vaporizer is a medical-grade device that has been tested and certified to be safe and effective. The Classic has gone through extensive research and development over the past 12 years to earn the distinction of being a medical-grade device. Storz & Bickel was able to certify that their product’s were for medical use by integrating materials and quality management systems (ISO 13485) to be used for medical purposes. The prestige distinction was a goal Storz & Bickel aspired to since the company's inception.

Convection Heating

The Volcano Vaporizer utilizes a vacuum system that pumps in fresh, filtered air that is then heated to the ideal temperature for extracting the most compounds from dry herb. This convection method is superior to conduction heating, presenting more flavors, aromas, and effects without causing combustion. Hot air passes over your aromatic blends or concentrates to create vapor, filling your Volcano balloon for easy consumption. Once your balloon is filled, it is ready to be detached and enjoyed.

Equipped with one of the most powerful convection heating systems in the industry, the Volcano vaporizer produces impressively potent vapor. Rather than heat dry herb on the hot surfaces of its chamber, the Volcano’s advanced diaphragm pump sends hot air flowing in to cover every millimeter of open surface area. This ensures that dry herb is vaporized more efficiently and thoroughly, which delivers better vapor quality and extracts the most benefits from every bowl.

Heat Up Time

The controls to fire up the Volcano Classic and heat up your smoking materials are relatively simple, so you can start vaping in a matter of minutes. The red button turns the vaporizer on, the orange light will light up when the Volcano starts warming up and will shut off when it reaches your preferred temperature. The majority of users dial the temp to six (374ºF) or eight (417ºF). Once you set your temperature, give it 3-6 minutes to heat up. Once you've attached the balloon bag, give it 30 seconds for vapor to appear.

Precision Temperature Control

While most devices feature single or pre-set temperatures, the Volcano vaporizer comes with precision temperature control. This allows you to pinpoint a temperature down to the single degree. You can zero in on the right temp for flavor, potency, smoothness, robustness, specific compounds, and more.

Controlling temperature with the Volcano vaporizer is easy. The Volcano Classic allows you to choose from 266F and 446F using an analog dial. Once you’ve chosen a temperature, the Volcano heats in just 180 seconds.

How To Use The Volcano Classic

The Volcano Classic functions identically to the Volcano Digital, but utilizes an analog temperature control dial that is fully adjustable from 266°F - 446°F (130°C - 230°C).

How do I use the Volcano?

First press the red button located on the left side of the vaporizer to set off the heating system .Then select the desired temperature to turn the dial of the classic or tap the button of the digital vaporizer the control yellow light will light up showing that the unit is heating up that takes 3 to 5 minutes only. While heating, ready you material put it in the solid chamber. When the yellow light turns off, it means the designated temp has been reached. Next put the chamber at the top of the volcano and attach the filling chamber Get rid of the balloon from the filling chamber and put in the chamber and enjoy!

What is the best grind level for the Volcano?

Medium grind is best, you want maximum surface area, yet not so fine as to escape through the holes in the screens.

Why do I need to let my Volcano preheat? How do I know when it’s good to start vaping?

You’ll need to wait 2-3 minutes before the heating element heats up to allow for vaporization. You’ll notice when you first turn on the heater, the switch turns red and the center orange light illuminates, indicating the heating element is on and warming up. When it reaches the optimal temperature, which you set with the dial (Classic) or by the temperature control buttons (Digit), the orange light is going to turn off. The orange light going off indicates that the system has reached the proper temperature, and is ready to use! As you use your Volcano, the orange light might flicker intermittently as the thermostatically controlled heater occasionally kicks on to keep the Volcano at the temperature you set.

Do I need to set the temperature on the Volcano Digit each time I turn it on?

Nope, the Volcano Digit has a memory controlled temperature setting, so it always remembers the last temperature you used.

What determines the vapor quality in the balloon?

You can vary the vapor quality the Volcano produces quite easily. Grinding your blends finer will create more surface area, allowing more blend to vaporizer at once. Adjusting the temperature can also have an effect, as higher temperatures will allow more vapor to be released at once. Use only the optimal temperature for your blend. Use caution as you increase your temperature, only increase a few degrees at a time until you achieve your perfect result.

Is the Volcano compatible with liquids and/or concentrates?

Both the Easy Valve & Solid Valve come with a Liquid Pad, allowing you to use a wide range of aromatic liquids and concentrates in your Volcano.

How are the Liquid Pads used?

Using the Liquid Pad is simple. Place the Liquid Pad into your Solid or Easy Valve heating chamber, then drip or apply your liquids or concentrates to the pad. Then, simply use Volcano as you normally would. Users have reported that higher temperatures work best with liquids and concentrates, we recommend starting at your normal temperatures and working your way up until you find the perfect temperature for you liquids or concentrates.

Will the Volcano work with a 240v power supply?

Vape World only carries the North American 110v Version at this time. For a 240v version, please contact Storz & Bickel directly.

What is the difference between the Volcano Classic, and Volcano Digit?

The most important aspect is, whichever Volcano you decide on, there is no difference in the overall effect. The precision and quality with which you are familiar from our Volcano Classic is stepped up a notch in the Volcano Digit. We have a full specification breakdown on the Classic or Digit tab on the left, but here is a quick rundown: Both Volcano types come with a shapely, brushed metal cone. Care was taken to use flavorless materials that are food safe. Both the high-performance heat exchanger and the strong air pump can withstand the toughest stresses and strains. An independent temperature fuse, air filter and silencer are naturally included in our Volcano, as is a specially designed aluminum heat exchanger, which brings the air both cleanly and reliably to the desired temperature. The Volcano Digit’s advantages lie in its large digital LED displays, which immediately and precisely informs the user of the operating status. The Volcano Digit has a better user interface and its electronic control system works even more precisely than the bi-metallic regulator on the Volcano Classic. Vaporization temperature adjustable between 104° and 446°F (40° and 230°C) Temperature accuracy ±2,7°F (±1,5°C) Three year warranty Precise electronic control Extra large, digital LED display with set and actual temperature Display changeover between °Celsius and °Fahrenheit Automatic switch off The Volcano Classic impresses by its robust, purely electromechanical design. Vaporization temperature adjustable between 266° and 446°F (130° and 230°C) Temperature accuracy ±9°F (±5°C ) Three year warranty Tens of thousands sold Robust, completely electromechanical design

Is there a difference in temperature accuracy between the Volcano Digit and the Volcano Classic?

The Digit is accurate to +/- 2.7°F (+/- 1.5°C) degrees. The Volcano Classic has a temperature accuracy of +/- 5°C (9°F) degrees. The Digit also offers a larger temperature range of 104 – 446°F (40 – 230°C) degrees compared to the Classic’s range of 226 – 446°F (130 – 230°C) degrees. Both models produce the same level of heat, but the Digit model offers a higher degree of accuracy than the manual dial.

Why is there no vapor when I first fill the balloon in my Volcano?

When you load either the Easy Valve or Solid Valve filling chamber, you are often using room temperature aromatic blends. As the Volcano forces warm air over and through your blends, they absorb this heat until they themselves reach the point of vaporization. When you first turn on the forced air, it will take a short period for the chamber and blends to heat up. Many users put their heating chamber on the Volcano without the balloon attached, turn on the fan, and when vapors are first visible, they put the balloon on. You could also time how long it takes for vapors to appear; for example lets say it takes 10 seconds on average. Next time you can apply the balloon to the heating chamber after 8 seconds, and don’t miss a single droplet!

Does the aluminum heat exchanger emit any substances which are subsequently inhaled by the user?

No. the top temperature reached in the heat exchanger 464°F (240°C) is by far below the temperature that is needed to emit any substances out of the aluminum alloy Al-Mg-Si, melting point 1220°F (660°C); boiling point 4566°F (2519°C) used by us. This is documented by an analysis of the air produced by the Volcano on top temperature made by the UTM Office for Environmental Engineering in Münster, Germany

What is the Volcano made from?

Storz & Bickel only uses the finest materials. Stainless Steel Exterior, ceramic-clad aluminum for the heater, and food grade tubing elsewhere. The bags are made from food-grade materials, and the valve systems are a combination of Stainless Steel and food-grade plastics.

Will the Volcano over-heat my blends?

The Volcano is capable of a wide range of temperatures, so as long as the set temperature is in the correct range for your particular blend, you should never experience over-heating.

How full should the heating chamber be for the Volcano?

To achieve best vapor quality, it is recommended to fill the chamber completely. However, smaller amounts will have no difficulty at all. Use the included liquid pad to occupy any voids created by very small amounts.

How often should I stir the blend in the Volcano's heating chamber?

Stirring isn’t necessarily required with the Volcano, regardless of which valve system you use. However, it will not hurt to stir after every balloon until the chamber has been depleted.

Is there an auto-shutoff on the Volcano?

Yes, 30 minutes after the last action was taken, the Volcano will shut off. As a general safety rule, do not leave the Volcano unattended while powered on.

What size Screens does the Volcano use?

The Volcano itself doesn’t actually use replaceable screens, however the Solid and Easy Valve systems use two different kinds of screens.

Is it okay to leave the power to the Volcano on all the time so its always ready?

The Volcano has an auto-shutoff feature that will turn the power off after roughly 30 minutes.

What is the purpose of the air filter under my Volcano vaporizer?

They filter the air intake that the Volcano pumps over your material and into the balloon. Check your filter periodically.

How long can the vapors be stored in the balloon?

The balloons are not designed to “store” your vapors. We recommend using the contents within 5-10 minutes.

The locks on the Volcano carrying case with combination-style locks will not open. Help!

Attempt to gently pry open the lock with a tool, a paint can opener is recommended. If you are unable to open the lock, please Contact us

What is the difference between the Easy Valve and Solid Valve for the Volcano?

The Solid Valve features an interchangeable and customizable balloon system, as well as a detachable mouthpiece. The Easy Valve features a disposable balloon system. The major difference is the ability to customize your balloon size. More information about each system is available on our Easy Valve and Solid Valve support pages.

Are both models of the Volcano, as well as both versions of the Valve Systems, completely interchangeable?

Yes! Both the Solid and Easy Valve systems work perfectly with both the Classic and Digit Volcanos.

How do I change the Volcano Vaporizer balloon when it gets dirty?

The Volcano User Guide and Solid Valve Quick Start Guides have great visual directions on the proper technique to replace the Solid Valve balloon. With the Easy valve, you simply recycle your old valve/balloon. and replace with a new one.

Can I make the Balloon larger or smaller?

The EASY VALVE balloon comes in two sizes, regular 2 feet (60 cm) or Easy XL 3 feet (90 cm) length. The SOLID VALVE balloon can be customized to any length between 1 to 10 feet (30 cm to 3 m) long. If you need something smaller, completely deflate balloon and tie a twist-tie or string around the balloon, using caution not to cut or puncture the balloon; then use as normal.

Does the Balloon material emit any substances to the vapors which are inhaled by the user?

No, none at all. Storz & Bickel have taken great care by using only food-grade materials that emit absolutely no tastes or odors. With the Volcano, you only taste the aromatic blend you’re using and nothing else.

Can you use turkey bags as a replacement for the Volcano balloons?

Yes, Volcano balloons can be replaced with turkey bags. It is not recommended to use them, but you can. We recommend Volcano Replacement Balloons.

How should I care for my Volcano?

Always unplug the vaporizer from the electrical outlet and allow to cool COMPLETELY before cleaning, 30 minutes should be sufficient. Always make sure your vaporizer is COMPLETELY dry before plugging it back in. Do not attempt any internal or external repairs to your unit as doing so may cause fatal injury – or worse – void your warranty! (Please contact us if you feel something is wrong with your vaporizer.) Keep your spare parts clean. This will result in the best performance, and not cause any unnecessary stress on the machine. Like any high-tech equipment, you should handle your Volcano with care. Make sure it is in a place where no one will trip over the power cord. Always use two hands when you carry it. Make certain it is packaged well during transport. If you didn’t purchase an Elite carrying case…keep the original box and Styrofoam! It should last you until you pick up your own hard or soft case.

How do I clean the spare parts of the Volcano Vaporizer?

The Volcano uses only the finest quality materials. It is perfectly fine to put your non-electric parts in the dishwasher, or for more detailed cleaning, isopropyl alcohol is an excellent cleaner.

How often do I need to clean my spare parts?

You should clean the spare parts when they get dirty. Look specifically at the upper screens and stainless steel areas that collect buildup. Inspecting your parts periodically will help to make the parts last longer and the machine perform at its best. Use the included cleaning brush regularly to help keep you parts free of debris between more thorough cleanings.

What kind of cleaning tools work best with the Volcano

Use the included brush for dry cleanings, and isopropyl alcohol for more thorough cleanings.

Is it okay to use isopropyl alcohol on my Volcano?

Isopropyl alcohol is an excellent cleaner for your valve parts. Never use it or any other liquids near the Volcano unit.

What parts of the Volcano will I need to clean the most?

Pay particular attention to the upper screens, brush periodically to keep free of debris. Any area above the aromatic blend will experience build-up; check those seasonally.

What is replaceable on my Volcano?

The only thing on the Volcano that you would ever need to change is the air intake filter. The Volcano comes with replacements, and we have extras available as well.

How do I replace the air intake filter?

Keeping your air intake as clean as possible is quick and easy. Unplug the Volcano and allow it to cool down. Flip the unit over, and turn the filter cover knob to the left and pull out. Remove old filter, and replace with clean filter(included with purchase) and replace filter cover and secure in place by turning to the right. Old filters are not designed for re-use and should be discarded.

Can balloons from the Volcano be cleaned?

No, You should change the balloon when it gets dirty. A balloon will last between 50 and 200 uses before it needs to be changed. A dirty balloon will eventually start effecting the taste of your fresh blends.

Am I able to clean the grinder that came with my Volcano with isopropyl alcohol?

No! Isopropyl alcohol is not good for your grinder.

What is the warranty on the Volcano?

The Volcano has a 3 year warranty from the manufacturer if it is purchased from an authorized retailer such as Vape World. Much more detailed warranty information is available on the Warranty tab.

Why is the Volcano more expensive than other vapes?

The unique patented Volcano System Technology conveys air enriched with aromas and fragrances into a balloon through a valve. Through the innovative valve technology the generated vapors will be completely collected in the balloon and the user can apply the vapors separately from the device. The content may be applied at ease, independently from the vaporization process both comfortably and safely. In order to achieve the best results, a vaporizer requires an air pump to guarantee a constant air flow, a heat accumulator to grant a precise air temperature and finally the unique valve technology to ensure a simple, reliable and convenient application. These technical features are only offered by the Volcano. The accurate air temperature control of the Volcano sets new standards for vaporizers in precision and reliability.

Why is the Digit Volcano so much more expensive than the analog Classic?

The Digit and Classic are functionally the same unit, with the same results, however the Digit is more expensive simply for the digital temperature display. It offers Set temperature memory after the unit has been powered off either manually or via auto-shutoff. The Digit also offers C° to F° conversion. That display does not affect the internals of the unit, or the quality of the vapor. It is simply an additional feature for customers who prefer this type of display.

Is the Volcano Vaporizer warranty extendable?

Nope.

I purchased my Volcano Vaporizer at vapor, and I think I have a warranty issue. Who do I contact, vapor or Storz & Bickel?

Please contact Storz & Bickel, full contact information is available on the ‘Warranty’ tab.

I tried to put a discount code in for my Volcano order, and it won’t work! Why?

We are always glad to assist our valued customers in discounts and price matching, whether retroactively or at the time of your order. At this time, there are no applicable discount codes for the Volcano vaporizer or Volcano accessories.

How do I register the Warranty for the Volcano?

Your registration begins on your purchase date. Retain your proof of purchase in case you ever need to get ahold of Storz and Bickel for any warranty information.
