Review: The Haze Vaporizer

Review: The Haze Vaporizer

And the award for the Oscar's best swag bag item goes to.... the Haze vaporizer! We aren't surprised as to why this beauty of a vape ended up being the first vaporizer in the Academy Awards' gift bag this year. Read on to see why we completely support this decision!

The Haze is an exciting new vaporizer - it's the first portable with dual chambers. This allows you to conveniently be able to load two chambers with any combination of material and your choice of conduction and convection screens.

 Specs:

    • Portable Vaporizer
    • Dimensions: 3.13in x 3in x 1in
    • Weight: .04 lbs
    • MSRP: $249.99

Look & Feel:

The Haze vaporizer has a solid build, and feels really good and smooth in your hand. It is not easily concealed in your palm, as it is more of a flask shape, but it definitely wins points for being lightweight.

Colors:

    • Graphite (Silver)
    • Stealth (Black)
    • Midnight (Blue)
    • Orchid (Purple)
    • Absinthe (Green)

How to Use the Haze Vaporizer:

To prepare your material, grind your blends to a moderately fine consistency. A coarse grind will do as well. The Haze vape comes with both a conduction-style screen and a convection-style screen to can choose from, as well as a concentrate cartridge with a wick that you can load your liquids on. The conduction style screen is the one with the sides cut out so that your material is able to come in contact with the heating chamber walls. The convection style screen makes a complete basket so that your material does not come in contact with the chamber. Choose which style you want, load your material and place it into the heating chamber.

To turn on the Haze, swivel the top piece forwards or backwards to pick which chamber you want to use. If you have 2 chambers loaded and ready to go, you can switch between them. There are 2 different symbols that correspond with the chambers.

Insert your mouthpiece stem of your choice into the vapor path, and the Haze will start to heat up and the LEDs will blink.

To select your temperature, press the button on the top. There are 4 temperature settings:

    • Level 1 – 365°F
    • Level 2 – 380°F
    • Level 3 – 390°F
    • Level 4 – 415°F

In less than 2 minutes, the Haze will heat to your desired temperature and the LEDs will turn solid when it's ready to go.

When you're ready to switch between chambers, take the mouthpiece stem out and swivel the lid to the other side. To turn the Haze off, swivel the top closed, and it will turn off.

Vapor Quality:

We found during our experimenting that level 3 and 4 have the best vapor quality, and we used the glass mouthpiece. Level 3 was our temperature setting of choice until the end of the session, when we moved it up to level 4.

We were able to get really good clouds of vapor on the higher settings and were very impressed with the results.

Power:

From testing, we were able to get about 6 sessions out of the Haze before having to recharge the battery. One battery should last you at least an hour of continuous usage. The Haze comes with a dual charger as well, so you can charge both of your batteries simultaneously.

We like the fact that the Haze has user replaceable batteries, that way if your batteries die after a while, they can simply be replaced rather than having to get your whole vape replaced.

Cleaning:

Cleaning the Haze vaporizer is very simple. In our experience, we find that cleaning the mouthpiece stems is the easiest way to prevent residue buildup. If you do not clean your stems once in a while and they start to get sticky, they will stick to the inside of the vapor pathway and then can potentially get stuck inside the unit. This can be prevented by cleaning the stems with isopropyl alcohol, and using a chenille stick or a q-tip lightly moistened with isopropyl alcohol, and run that through the vapor pathway and around the entrance of the airway.

Pros:

    • Multi-purpose - Able to change between aromatic blends, solid and liquid concentrates
    • Able to switch between conduction and convection style screens
    • Dual chamber
    • Replaceable battery
    • 10-Year warranty

Cons:

    • Can get a little hot, so hold it on the right side (on the smooth part)
    • Not completely maintenance free (but that's a lot to ask for!)
