Look & Feel:

Compact - When you first take the Crafty out of the box, you’ll be surprised at how light it is for how hefty it appears.

Pocketable - It fits nicely in the palm of your hand and has no problem fitting in pockets or purses either, making it a truly portable vaporizer.

Durable - Another nice thing about the Crafty is it doesn't have any glass parts or pieces that you have to worry about breaking off easily.

Low-key - Crafty's look is relatively inconspicuous, especially with the mouthpiece that lies flat on top of the unit when it’s not in use.

Ease of Use:

When preparing your material, it does not have to be ground finely (a coarse grind will do). Loosely fill your material into the chamber. The heating chamber fits up to 0.3g, but you don't have to fill it completely. Storz & Bickel also provides you with a handy filling aid and a 3-piece acrylic grinder that comes with all Storz & Bickel vaporizers.

One of the great things about this product is that you can use it with aromatic blends, or utilize the liquid pads that come in the box for use with solid and liquid concentrates. If you are using aromatic blends and you do not want to fill the chamber completely, you can use one of the included liquid pads as a space filler and then load your blends on top of the pad.

Once you have your materials loaded into the chamber, place the heater cover back on and then you're ready to turn it on and set your temperature. If you don't want to use the default temperature of 356°F (180°C),  you can open the app on your Android or iOS (iPhone) and set the temperature to your preference. There is also a booster temperature with a default temperature of 383°F, but you can use the app to change this default as well.

While the Crafty is heating up, the LEDs will display red.  The default temperature setting heats up in 90 seconds, and you're notified that it has reached your desired temperature by a short vibration and the LEDs turning green.

Additionally, the app also shows you the battery level of the Crafty and alerts you when it needs to be charged, it lets you adjust the brightness setting of the LEDs, and you can turn the vibration on and off.

Vapor Quality:

Unlike some vaporizers that take a few draws to reach optimal vapor density, the vapor from the Crafty is thick from the first draw and does not disappoint. In comparison to most portable vaporizers, Crafty offers an easy draw with little to no resistance. Your materials get vaporized evenly, hardly requiring stirring. However, if you do want to stir your blends, the Crafty conveniently comes with a stir tool that fits right into the unit.

Power:

Battery life - About 1 hour of continuous use; however the Crafty features pass-through charging so you can use it while it’s charging.

Charge time - Approximately 2 hours to fully recharge when completely drained.

Auto shut-off - To save power, Crafty has a quick auto shut-off time of only 1 minute. If you’re telling a story or watching TV and it turns off, you'll have to restart it. If you want to avoid the auto-shutoff, you can press the button at least every 59 seconds, so that it recognizes that you are still using it.

Ease of Cleaning:

Cleaning the Crafty is pretty simple, and the pieces that need to be cleaned come apart easily for your convenience. After each session, you can quickly clean out the heating chamber and dust off the upper screen with the included brush.

The cooling unit will also have to be cleaned periodically. Pull the mouthpiece out, and then you can unlock the cooling unit and clean inside. You can clean this area out with a cotton swab and a little isopropyl alcohol to get rid of any residue that's building up in there.

Pros:

Cons:

• One-minute auto shut-off time can be too soon if you're talkative or forgetful.

• Single Lithium-ion battery offers 1-hour continuous use, which is common amongst portables, but seems short in comparison to it's sibling, the Mighty vaporizer.

Overall Experience:

Costly - This new vaporizer may not be for someone on a budget, but we think it’s totally worth the investment.
