Features

  • LED Display
  • 3000mAh Battery
  • Lip Sensing Technology
  • Sleek and Compact
  • Brushed Aluminum Exterior
  • 4 Heat Settings
  • .40 Gram Herb Chamber
  • 60-Second Heating

The second PAX vaporizer is easy to use. But it can take some getting used to. Simple things like removing the screen, changing temperature, cleaning, loading, and hitting have specific instructions for the best performance.

There are also easy things like turning the PAX 2 off that some people have trouble with. Here we cover all the ins and outs of using PAX 2, including some advanced stuff like using PAX 2 with a water pipe.

How to Remove PAX 2 Screen

To remove a PAX 2 screen, you'll need a small tool to fit into the holes on the sides of the screen.

  • Grab a needle or very thin tool to remove the PAX 2 screens
  • Insert a needle into one of the holes on the side of the screen and pry the screen up. You can also use tweezers to lift the screen.

To insert a new PAX 2 screen:

  • Drop a screen into the chamber
  • Nudge it down with a tool until it's scalloped edges fit perfectly into place.

Note: avoid scratching the walls of the PAX 2 chamber when you're removing the screen.

How to Load The PAX 2 Vaporizer

Before you start loading the PAX 2 vaporizer make sure the oven lid is cool before removing it.

  • Press down on one side of the PAX 2 oven lid to remove it.
  • Load your ground herbs into the PAX 2 chamber using a loading tool.
  • Reattach the oven lid and enjoy!

PAX 2 tips...slightly overfill the chamber with your dry herbs and pack firmly. This will promote better vaporization. Just try to not pack it too tightly or it might close off airflow.

What is the Best Grinder for PAX?

PAX 2 works best with finely ground dry herb. The best grinder for PAX is a fine grinder designed specifically to grind herb down to the finest consistency, but a common 4-piece grinder will also work.

A four-piece grinder will ensure the most thorough grind. It's definitely worth investing in one if you own or plan on owning PAX 2. If you're going to vape with one of the best portables out there, you want to ensure the best performance with a fine grinder.

the perfect grinder for the PAX 2 vaporizer

If there's one PAX 2 secret to remember, it's this: Grind the herb down as finely as possible. This is will guarantee better clouds. More flavor, smoother profile, and more potency.

After grinding finely, load the PAX 2 chamber to the brim and tamp down the herb firmly. Do not pack too tightly or you might reduce airflow and prevent thorough heating.

How to Pack PAX 2

For the best results, overfill the PAX 2 chamber with finely ground herb then pack it down firmly but not too tightly using a loading tool. The surface of the herb should be flush with the brim of the chamber. This method for packing PAX 2 will promote even heating and fuller hits.

For the best results, you'll want to use a fine grinder if possible. This will make it easier to pack PAX 2 and give you better vaporization that will save you money and deliver better clouds, too.

To pack down the chamber, a simple loading tool will work. You can find a tool for PAX 2 here since the device does not come with one.

How Much Herb Can the PAX 2 Hold?

The PAX 2 chamber can hold a minimum of 0.15 grams or a maximum of .35 grams. That's 20 grams more than the capacity of the Firefly 2 chamber, and about 5 grams more than the DaVinci IQ.

If you load less than a full chamber of dry herb into the PAX 2, make sure to use a do-it-yourself chamber reducer (see the PAX 2 Screen Trick) to ensure the best vapor quality.

If you want to fit the most herb possible into the chamber, overfill it with finely ground herb and smash it down a bit until the herb is level with the rim of the chamber. Just don't pack it too tight or you might experience weak hits.

How to Change PAX 2 Temperature

PAX 2 vaporizer changing temperatures

Press the button at the center of the PAX 2 mouthpiece to turn the device on. Hold the button down to enter the PAX 2 temperature control mode. Press the button quickly to cycle through the four temperature settings. Hold the button down again to choose a temperature.

Pax 2 temperature settings are displayed by an LED light with four petals (The PAX logo). 1 Petal = 360F, 2 petals = 380F, 3 petals = 400F, 4 petals = 420F.

Once you choose a temperature, PAX 2 takes about 60 seconds to heat up.

How to Hit PAX 2

To enjoy fuller hits from PAX 2, finely grind your herb and pack it firmly in the chamber, though not too tightly. Press the control button on the center of the mouthpiece to power up, then wait 45 to 60 seconds for the PAX 2 to heat. Press your lips on the mouthpiece and inhale. For fuller hits, choose temperatures 3 or 4. For flavorful hits, choose the lowest temperature.

If your hits are weak, make sure you're grinding your herb finely enough. You may need to buy a fine grinder. Your herb might also be wet. A sticky grinder is a good indicator of this. To dry out weed, grind it and lay it out on a paper towel, dabbing it down to remove the oils. When you load it this time, do not pack it too tightly. Firmly is the key.

If you're still experiencing weak hits, floss out the airpath located under the mouthpiece with a pipe cleaner. It may be clogged.

How to Clean PAX 2

Soak the PAX 2 mouthpiece and screen in isopropyl alcohol. Meanwhile, clean the PAX 2 chamber using a q-tip dipped in alcohol. While discoloration is ok, any build up should be thoroughly removed. Floss the vapor path using a pipe cleaner. Rinse the isopropyl off your mouthpiece and reinsert.

An advanced PAX 2 cleaning tip is to soak the pipe cleaner in a bit of isopropyl before flossing the airpath. Just make sure to let all the alcohol evaporate before vaping.

Remember that PAX recommends that you soak the mouthpiece in iso or soapy water at least once a month to keep build up from forming. And they don't want you disassembling the mouthpiece, which is apparently hard to put back together properly.

When to Clean PAX 2

Dirty and empty PAX 2 vaporizer chamber

If you see build up in the chamber, mouthpiece, screen or vapor tube, it’s time to clean your PAX 2. However, discoloration on the PAX 2 oven or screen is ok. Weak hits can also indicate when to clean PAX 2. If the screen is covered in gunk that won't come off with a good soak in isopropyl alcohol, you may need to replace it.

As we mentioned, it's best practice to soak the mouthpiece in isopropyl and give it a good wiping down at least once a month. The same goes for the chamber, which you should wipe down with a q-tip dipped in isopropyl to keep things running at their full potential.

Cleaning the PAX 2 after each session is recommended. That means you'll clean more often, but it'll be less work each time than if you wait for too much gunk to pile up. This will help you cut costs on replacement parts and really get the most out of each session as well.

How to Charge PAX 2

Rest your PAX 2 in the charging cradle, connecting the two ports on the backside of the device to the two prongs on the charging dock. Make sure the PAX 2 charger cable is fully plugged into a power source and the charging dock.

When the PAX 2 is charging and the battery is at 0 to 24%, all the LED petals will glow off and on. When the battery is at 25% to 49%, the top left petal will glow solid. At 50% to 74%, the two top petals will glow solid. At 75% to 99%, the two topmost and the bottom right petals will glow solid. And finally, when the PAX 2 is fully charged, all the petals will glow solid.

The PAX 2 will take around 2 to 3 hours to charge, which can depend on the power source. A wall outlet, for example, will charge the PAX 2 faster than a computer or car charger via USB.

How to Check the PAX 2 Battery

To check the PAX 2 battery, turn the device on by holding down the button in the center of the mouthpiece and gently shake the PAX 2. The LED petals will display the PAX 2 battery level on a scale of 1 to 4 petals, the latter number indicating a fully charged battery.

You can also check the battery when the PAX is charging. The LED petals will glow solidly 1 through 4 depending on how charged up the battery is. When it is dead, all four petals will glow but they'll light up on and off.

How to Use PAX 2 with a Water Pipe

PAX 2 using a water pipe

PAX 2 connects to a number of third-party PAX water pipe adapters, usually via an adjustable o-ring. PAX Labs doesn’t at this time make their own PAX water pipe adapters. PAX 2 water adapters are generally compatible with water pipes featuring 14mm and 18mm joints.

Using PAX 2 with a water pipe adapter offers awesome benefits. The hits will be smoother, since they pass through water before rising up the mouthpiece to be inhaled. And they'll be purer for the same reason. The water filtration will remove particulates for a more comfortable draw.

We recommend choosing the higher temperatures when using a water pipe adapter. That way the hits are bigger. Smaller hits from the lower temps might be dampened in the water filtration process.

How to Turn off PAX 2

To turn off the PAX 2, quickly press the button in the center of the mouthpiece. You’ll want to turn off PAX 2 in between temperature changes or the oven will continue heating your dry herb even when you’re not vaping.

This may seem like the simplest PAX tip, but you'd be surprised how many times this comes up as a problem. The reason for that has to do with the speed at which you press the power button. You have to press it quickly to turn off PAX 2. Otherwise it will enter Temperature Control mode.

If you don't shut the PAX 2 off manually, the device will do so automatically after 3 minutes, no matter what mode you're in. This conserves battery and herb, and ensures the unit doesn't heat up in your pocket when you're not even using it.

PAX 2 Problems

young man thinking about how good the PAX 2 is

Even the iPhone of vaporizers has its flaws. If you're experiencing PAX 2 issues, you can usually fix the problem yourself. Other times you may need to contact PAX customer support or put the device's 2 year warranty to good use.

Here are the most common PAX 2 problems and their solutions.

Why Won't My PAX 2 Charge?

If your PAX 2 won't charge, try pushing in the copper pins on the back of the device using a needle. Push them in individually. Then reconnect the PAX 2 to the charging dock, making sure the USB cable is firmly plugged into the back of the charger and your power source. If this doesn't work, contact PAX customer support.

The other reason why your PAX 2 might not be charging is the power source. Make sure the plug is thoroughly plugged in. If you plug into a computer or remote charging bank via USB, make sure the device you're plugging into is fully charged.

In some cases the battery might be damaged. Extreme cold, for example, can alter the chemicals inside the battery, which will cease to work. In these cases, you'll want to seek a warranty replacement. A major PAX 2 tip is: Keep the device out of extreme cold.

Why is my PAX 2 Blinking Red?

If all four PAX 2 petals blink red three times, followed by the device shutting off, the PAX 2 battery is fully depleted and needs to be recharged.

It will take around two to three hours to charge.

If the device is blinking and changing colors, you're on party mode. No need to charge. Just party.

PAX 2 is Too Cold

Keep your PAX 2 protected from extreme cold, which can damage the battery. If your PAX 2 is not heating properly in the cold, it may be because the battery chemistry has been altered. If you believe your battery has been damaged, contact PAX customer support.

The temperature at which your vaporizer battery will begin to drain faster is below 14F (10C). We recommend storing your vape in a warm place during the winter. You can also keep it tucked away in a warm jacket pocket while you're out.

If you're taking a hit outside, vape on the higher temperature, and take slower pulls, as the air will need more time than usual to heat up in the frigid cold.

What Temperature Does PAX 2 Use?

PAX 2 features 4 preset temperatures. The temperatures are indicated by the PAX 2 LED light, which takes the shape of a four-petaled flower. 1 petal = 360F, 2 petals = 380F, 3 petals = 400F, 4 petals = 420F.

To change temperature, first push the button on the mouthpiece to turn the device on. Now hold the button down to activate temperature control mode. Press the button once rapidly to switch to a temperature setting. Hold the button down to choose a temperature.

Wait around one minute for the PAX 2 to heat up.

Can You Overcharge PAX 2?

PAX 2 charging on dock

You can not overcharge the PAX 2. The device can be left on the charging dock for any length of time without damaging the battery.

Charging PAX 2 can take between two and three hours depending on the power source. A wall outlet will charge the device faster than a car charger or computer via USB.

Once the PAX 2 is fully charged all four LED petals will glow solid.

PAX 2 Isn't Hitting

If your PAX 2 isn’t hitting, but the battery is operating normally, you may be loading the PAX 2 improperly. Make sure to grind your herb finely and pack it firmly.

You should also dry out your herb by laying it on a paper towel after your initial grind. If the hits are still too small, try setting the temperature higher for bigger clouds.

Finally, make sure to floss the air path underneath the mouthpiece with a pipe cleaner in case there is a clog.

How Do I Remove the PAX Raised Mouthpiece?

To remove the raised mouthpiece from PAX 2, hold the device with the mouthpiece facing upwards. Press your thumb on the PAX while hooking your index finger nail under the mouthpiece to lift it up.

From here you can soak the mouthpiece in isopropyl alcohol and wipe it down, or swap it out if it's time for a replacement.

Attaching the PAX 2 raised mouthpiece is simple enough. Just press the mouthpiece into the chamber at the top of the device.

The PAX Raised Mouthpiece Burns my Lips

If the PAX 2 raised mouthpiece is too hot, stuff a tiny wad of paper or skewer into one of the openings in the mouthpiece. This will stop the raised mouthpiece from burning your lips.

Another PAX 2 tip worth noting: If the mouthpiece is too hot, you can sip on it as you would a hot cup of tea. But the best solution is to plug one of the holes in the raised mouthpiece.

Once you leave only one airpath, it adds some draw resistance so you're not getting a full blast. The resulting hit is more comfortable.

PAX 2 Secrets

PAX 2 special light show

There are five PAX 2 special features, including the Simon Says game. Yes, the Simon Says game. And if you beat the game, PAX will play the "Funky Town" song for you. This is why PAX 2 rules.

The other modes are mostly different ways of making the LED lights put on light shows for you while you vape. But there's also stealth mode, which comes in handy when you're vaping in the dark and don't want to blow your cover with said light shows.

There's a treasure trove of PAX 2 secrets waiting to be unlocked. Here’s your map.

What is PAX 2 Stealth Mode?

Stealth Mode turns down the PAX 2 LED light so it does not draw attention to your vaping sessions. To access PAX 2 stealth mode, shake the device at the very moment you press the power button to turn it on. The lights will grow dim rather than glow.

A helpful PAX 2 tip for those who vape in the dark: Stealth Mode is perfect for night sessions (when the LED lights are particularly noticeable). If you don't want people to know you're vaping, you can activate stealth mode to keep things under wraps.

Stealth Mode can also help you save a bit of battery since the lights won't be in use.

What are the PAX 2 Special Features?

The PAX 2 special features are secret settings that can be unlocked by laying the PAX 2 flat on your palm and rolling the device three times horizontally. Each time the PAX 2 is rolled, the next special feature is activated. The PAX 2 special features are:

Party Mode- 3 Rotations

Light Painting - 6 Rotations

Motion Sensing - 9 Rotations

Simon Says Game - 12 Rotations

Each setting has an auto shut off that activates after three minutes of idleness.

What is PAX 2 Party Mode?

Party Mode is a secret PAX 2 setting which creates a spectacular light show when you take a hit. Instead of staying solid purple or green, each LED light will flash in different colors. The LED lights will also change colors in a circular fashion like a color wheel.

To enter Party Mode, rotate the PAX three times. Be carefly not to tilt or shake the PAX too much as you spin it or it won't register the rotation.

In this mode, the oven will stay hot between hits as you pass the vape around to a friend.

What is PAX 2 Motion Sensing Mode?

Motion Sensing Mode is the second PAX 2 special feature accessed by laying the PAX 2 flat on a surface and rolling it three times horizontally twice. Each petal in the LED light will glow a solid color.

When taking a hit, the petals will change colors. The lights will also change colors when you move the PAX 2 around.

In Lip and Motion Sensing mode, the oven will stay hot as you pass the vape around. Standby is disabled in this mode.

What is PAX 2 Light Painting Mode?

PAX 2 "light painting" mode

In Light Painting mode, all the PAX 2 LED lights will glow red then shut off. Now with every movement, each light will glow a different color. When you stop moving, the lights will shut off.

This PAX 2 secret looks beautiful in the dark. You can even create a time lapse "light drawing" with your smart phone. Just shut the lights off and record your PAX dancing in the dark.

Light drawing mode also adds some magic to group sessions, as the petals will light up everytime you pass the vape.

How to Play Simon Says on PAX 2

In Simon mode, the PAX 2 LED lights will give you a sequence to follow. Once the sequence ends, tilt the PAX 2 in the direction of the lit LED lights to copy its pattern.

If you complete the pattern properly, all four lights will flash, indicating you’ve reached the next level. If you mess up, all the lights will blink red, letting you know it's time to try again.

To enter Simon mode, simply rotate the device 12 times. Don't shake the PAX during these rotations or the unit won't pick up on them.

Once you defeat all 20 levels in the PAX 2 Simon game, the device will give you a special prize, taking you on a musical journey to Funky Town.

How to Make PAX 2 Play Funky Town

Once you defeat level 20 of the PAX 2 Simon Says game, the device will play the Funky Town jingle.

To access Simon Says, lay the PAX 2 flat on its back and roll it horizontally in sets of three rolls until all four LED lights flash white.

PAX 2 will then play a light sequence on the LED petals, which you can copy by tilting the PAX 2 in the direction of the lit lights. If you successfully copy the sequence, all four lights will flash to indicate you’ve beaten the level. Defeat all 20 levels and you've arrived at Funky Town.

What is the PAX 2 Screen Trick?

PAX 2 oven reducer

You can make your own DIY oven reducer for the PAX 2 using a nickel-sized pipe screen. This enables you to use the PAX 2 with only half the chamber loaded with herb.

First bend the screen around a pen to give it a U shape. You may need to trim the ends off the U to make it fit in the chamber.

Next lay the bottom of the U down on top of your herb. The screen will fill up the extra space left in the chamber.

The PAX 2 screen trick works fairly well. You'll get the same quality hits that you would with a full chamber. But if you want the optimal vapor production with half a chamber, you might want to invest in the PAX half-pack oven lid, which is compatible with the second and third PAX vaporizers.

PAX 2 Frequently Asked Questions

There's a lot to learn about PAX 2. Does the device smell? Can you vape wax with it? How can you tell if you’re being sold a counterfeit PAX 2? Here we leave no stone unturned.

Can PAX 2 Use Wax and Oil?

The PAX 2 is compatible with the PAX 3 concentrate insert, which allows you to use wax, oil or hash. Simply slip the concentrate insert into the PAX 2 chamber and load it with your concentrate.

The recommended temperature for vaping wax and oil with the PAX 2 is 380F.

Our PAX tip for vaping wax is to clean the concentrate insert using isopropyl alcohol and a q-tip after every one or two sessions. Wax is much gunkier than herb, and it can end up being difficult to break up if you hold off on cleaning for too long.

Can You Smell PAX 2?

PAX 2 will create a faint weed smell, but only for a few moments until the vapor dissipates. To keep odors minimal, vape at lower temperatures.

You can also shut off the PAX 2 in between hits and right after your session is over to stop the oven from heating herb.

To keep PAX vaporizer smell to an absolute minimum, we recommend using a variety of products aim to keep the aroma more contained. Very handy for indoor vaping.

Where is the PAX 2 Serial Number?

PAX 2 serial number

To prevent counterfeiting, the PAX 2 features a serial number on the back of the device below the “Assembled in China” text. The serial number should be stamped on and not be a sticker.

For a number of reasons, we don't advise buying a PAX 2 from a third party. Purchasing directly from the manufacturer or through an authorized retailer is the best way to ensure you're getting the real deal.

PAX 2 is one of the most popular vaporizers, so millions of dollars worth of counterfeits are out there. These knock-offs are cheaper in materials and build quality and can even be dangerous. If you do go through a thirdy party reseller, make sure to check the serial number on the back of the device.

Is PAX 2 Convection?

The PAX 2 is a conduction vaporizer which heats dry herb in a surgical-grade stainless steel oven. As the chamber heats, herb is vaporized against its hot surfaces, creating vapor.

The stainless steel retains heat well, so once you've taken your first hit, heat up time will be much faster than the usual 60 second wait should you decide to increase the temperature or take a little break.

If you're looking for a portable convection vaporizer, the Firefly 2 is a great option.

Does PAX 2 Have a Warranty?

The PAX 2 is protected by a 2 year limited warranty. This only covers defects in the PAX 2 discovered during normal use within 2 years after purchase from PAX or authorized retailers.

The PAX warranty will not carry over to subsequent purchasers, and it won't apply if you purchase PAX 2 from a third party reseller like Craigslist.

If you're outside the US, check with PAX customer support to see if the warranty applies in your countries. This device is available in select locations, so the warranty isn't going to be valid in certain areas.

Can You Use PAX 2 with Tobacco?

Tobacco inside of the PAX 2

PAX 2 is designed for loose leaf matter including tobacco. PAX 2 is compatible with cigarette and pipe tobacco.

When using tobacco with the PAX 2, fill the chamber with enough loose leaf to slightly overfill it. Then tamp down the tobacco until it is even with the top of the chamber. Do not pack too tightly however or you'll clog up the airflow.

When vaping tobacco with the PAX 2, you'll notice significantly stronger flavors, however the vapor will be lacking in the smoky notes experienced with a pipe or cigarette.

How Many Hits Does PAX 2 Have?

PAX 2 delivers around 20 hits per fully loaded chamber. Your hit count may vary somewhat depending on what temperature you are on and how large your hits are. Higher temperatures and bigger draws mean fewer hits, lower temps and smaller sips mean more.

Here's an essential PAX 2 tip for getting more hits:

The more tightly you pack your chamber, the more PAX 2 hits you'll enjoy out of one bowl load.

How Long Does PAX 2 Take to Charge?

PAX 2 will fully charge in 3 hours via USB. With the AC wall adaptor (not included with the PAX 2), the device will charge in 2 hours.

The LED light will glow orange when the PAX 2 is connected to the charger. Once the battery has reached 80%, the LED light will glow green.

How long PAX 2 takes to charge can depend on your power source. A wall outlet will charge the device faster than a car adapter, for example.

PAX 2 Accessories

PAX 2 box with accessories

It turns out that most PAX 2 accessories are essential to using the device, which is why it's wise to stock up on them.

There are a handful of PAX parts available. But what do they all do?

Here is a breakdown of each PAX accessory so you can get an idea of how they work and what, ahem, part they play in using the PAX 2.

PAX Screens

The PAX 2 features a replaceable screen in its chamber. Each PAX 2 screen features scalloped edges that help it fit snugly and filter and cool vapor as it passes through. They’re made of high grade metal, and have a solid plate design rather than the usual mesh screen, which ensures the maximum heat transfer.

One of the number one PAX 2 problems we're asked about is removing the screen. It fits in their a little too snugly. Just take a needle (or something just as thin) and poke it into one of the holes on the side of the screen. Then prop the screen up and remove.

PAX screens are essential for filtering out and cooling off vapor. As each hit passes through the screen, it is sifted, giving it more time to cool off, and filtering out particulates for smoother rips.

PAX Oven Lids

The PAX 2 features a magnetic oven lid that pops off easily. They're made of a high grade plastic on the outside and surgical-grade stainless steel on the interior.

These little guys are easy to misplace if you’re not careful, so stocking up is a good idea.

The magnetic connection really makes loading and cleaning easy. Usually portable vaporizers have threaded or rubber grommet connections. But in this case, the lid just pops right off and snaps back on.

PAX Cleaning Kit

The PAX maintenance kit comes with 10 pipe cleaners, 1x Wire Brush and 3x Screen. This maintenance kit equips you with the necessary tools to keep your PAX 2 or 3 operating optimally. Included in the kit is a lengthy wire brush and 10 pipe cleaners designed to eliminate residue from those tricky spots and maintain a clear vapor path. Additionally, the kit contains three spare oven screens, guaranteeing your vaporizer's continual ability to offer smooth and delectable draws.

PAX 2 Charging Dock

PAX 2 charging dock

The charging dock features a detachable USB cable and charging dock on which the PAX 2 rests. Two prongs in the bed of the cradle connect magnetically to the charging nodules on the back of PAX 2. You can hook up the charger to you car adapter, computer USB, wall outlet using an adapter, remote charging bank, and more.

The charging dock is small and fully charges the PAX 2 in about 3 hours, depending on the strength of your power source. A wall outlet will charge the PAX 2 much faster than other sources.

If your charging dock stops charging the device, try pushing in the prongs on the back of PAX 2 using a needle or similarly thin device. If you continue having trouble, contact PAX 2 support.

PAX Flat Mouthpieces

These flat mouthpieces make the PAX 2 stealthier. You can't tell the device is a vaporizer.

The flat mouthpiece is great for outdoor use. For better airflow, you can switch to the raised mouthpiece.

PAX Raised Mouthpieces

PAX 2 raised mouthpieces

The PAX 2 raised mouthpiece offers more airflow than the flat mouthpiece, but less stealth. If you want bigger hits from PAX 2, this is one way to achieve them.

Some users complain that the hits are too hot. To prevent hot hits, plug one of the openings in the PAX raised mouthpiece with a wad of paper or skewer. This will cool each hit.

PAX 2 vs PAX 3

PAX 2 and PAX 3 offer much of the same features, though the latter is stronger and faster with more heat settings and mobile app compatibility.

PAX 3 is the way to go if you want the best of the best, but its predecessor is still one of the great vaporizers on the market and costs around $100 less.

If you're trying to decide between the second and third iteration, here's a complete breakdown of all their specs:

PAX 2 vs PAX 3 comparison chart

PAX 2 vs PAX 3 Size

PAX 2 and PAX 3 are exactly the same size. The width, length and diameter are identical, as well as the chamber volumes. Their dimensions are 3.87" H x 1.21" W x 0.85" D.

Both of these pocket-friendly devices are ideal for vaping dry herb on-the-go, and in a stealthy manner.

Both are also more compact than other popular portables like Firefly 2 and Crafty.

PAX 2 vs PAX 3 Smell

Unlike its predecessor, PAX 3 features a stealth mode that keeps the vaporizer from smelling as much. This setting cools the chamber off faster so it doesn't keep vaporizing dry herb after your session is over.

PAX 2 doesn't smell nearly as bad as smoking. Its clouds dissipate in seconds and don't carry much lingering odor.

But if you're extra concerned about keeping a low profile, the PAX 3 smell is a little stealthier than PAX 2 thanks to its Stealth heating mode.

PAX 2 vs Firefly 2

The two most popular portable dry herb vaporizers are PAX 2 and Firefly 2. They differ in price, size, warranty, bowl size, weight, and more.

Those looking for an advanced dry herb vape at a relatively affordable price tend to lean toward PAX 2. Because it's been out since 2015, its price point is cheaper.

On the other hand, Firefly 2 offers more functionality but at a higher price.

Here is a nuts and bolts breakdown of PAX 2 vs Firefly 2:

PAX 2 vs Firefly comparison chart

PAX 2 vs Firefly 2 Size

The PAX 2 is compact at 3.9" L x 1.2" W x 0.8" H, while the Firefly 2 is slightly larger at 5.1" L x 1.6" W x 1.0" H.

The PAX 2 is also lighter than the 140 gram Firefly 2, weighing in at 90 grams.

Despite its smaller size, the PAX 2 has a larger bowl size than Firefly 2 by 20 grams.

PAX 2 vs Firefly 2 Price

At $149.99, PAX 2 is less than half the price of the Firefly 2, which is priced at $329.25.

While PAX 2 doesn't offer the same convection heating, mobile app compatibility, and rapid heat up as FF2, it is lighter, more compact, and mightier with a larger oven and 3000mAh battery.

If you're looking to own one of the best portable vaporizers out there, but are on a budget, the PAX 2 is a great alternative to the Firefly 2.

PAX 2 vs Firefly 2 Heating

PAX 2 is a conduction vaporizer, while Firefly 2 relies on convection. PAX 2 heats dry herb against the hot surfaces of its chamber, while Firefly 2 sends hot air into the chamber.

PAX 2's 45 second heat up time is much slower than Firefly 2, which heats in around 5 seconds. It also features only 4 heat settings while Firefly 2 has 6.

Unlike Pax 2, the Firefly 2 can be adjusted via mobile app. You can customize your heat settings to tailor your vapor profiles.

PAX 2 vs Crafty

PAX 2 is pocket-friendly and perfect for on-the-go vaping. Crafty is larger, but offers better vapor quality.

So which vaporizer wins? It all depends on what you want.

Here is a comparison chart of the PAX 2 vs Crafty vaporizer:

PAX 2 vsb Crafty comparison chart

PAX 2 vs Crafty Size
