iolite WISPR Vaporizer

My one lasted less than one day before it failed. I had read that they were junk and now I believe it. Oglesby and Butler appear to have no interest in customer satisfaction, they seem only interested is ripping people off. Please people, be wary of buying any products from this company. The wispr is a $2 product that they sell for $250. It's made from shit plastic and poorly manufactured parts. The people that make this junk should be locked up.
If you get one to work longer than a week, you must have the luck of the Irish.
Any fault at all and the product must be sent back to Ireland, no chance of getting it repaired anywhere else. I don't know how they get away with it, these things are total crap. Scam of the century!!! DO NOT BUY, BE WARNED

You always get a taste of plastic and butane. The tank leaked from day one. Need I say more?

Short and sweet , when units work properly , nothing comes closer to portable vaporizing perfection ! BUT they have several key components that are substandard in quality ! I have had many of these untis. First it was the Piezeos going out .Replaced units would not " hiss " or vap the butane correctly . OK , so we have had ignition problems,next fuel vap problem , and now fill port plunge pin problem . So every major compoment failed. Iolite is NOT very amiable towards helping you with their problem . It just amazes me that with such a great working product , they still cannot get the whole thing right !! I mean they manufacture the item. They have control over sourceing parts . They are still selling like crazy !! Huge profit margin !! But they will not fix the problems ? theyre so busy trying to keep up with making more untits per day ? What about fixing it !! Geez it really cant be that hard. Must be a cultural thing. They dont really care about making a reputable product , and they dont have the Yankee know how to make it right. !! Thank somebody for the combined ingenuiety of everybody here !! we would never keep letting something so obviously broken , to continue being sold and act like nothing is wrong ? they know it doesnt work ? Why keep jerking people around with a faulty product. They DO NOT WARRANTY the replaced untits . So if they have replaced it , you're now on your own . Yes for $ 225. 00 you now have a plastic paperweight ?? I've have never had one work for 4 full months. Only way to get them to play fair , is stop buying their inferior products. I am moving on to another brand of portable Vape . Not by choice , but because Iolite cannot make a product that works ??

The Wispr is a very nice vaporizer indeed, its easy to use and is comparable with any other vaporizer on the market at the moment.

I did order a unit which had a defect with the valve, causing it to leek. The e-mail support from Iolite was fast and very supportive during this woeful period.

The replacement has been working fine thus far, and I've enjoyed using the device. The fact that the Iolite comes with a 2 year warranty (renewed if replaced) is also a big plus.

at first purchase, i loved this but then after one month the butane leaked. i did not wish to be without one and purchased a second immediately. the second one worked for a week longer than the first until it would not even turn on.

Iolite is full aware of the issues they have with this product however, they refuse to remove it from the market.

I love finding new smoking gadgets and coming from my volcano, I wanted something portable, but still a healthy option for my lungs. This device seemed to fit my needs. It was somewhat quite, but it wasn't easy to spark the butane. The mouth piece seemed to open all the time, begging for germs. On top of all that, the butane decided to leak slowly until after a week, it would make horrible noises upon butane fills. Just ordered the Pax. Seems perfect with battery power and conventional design.

Purchased a WISPR in Feb 2012 (not from Vape World, maybe my first mistake). After 8 months and 3 replacements that didn't work, Iolite refuses to refund my money. Their device doesn't ignite at high altitudes (I live in Denver, what a joke, it's not Mt Everest) although my butane lighters work fine. The literally take 8 weeks before even getting a replacement back to you. Customer service is about the worst I've ever seen from any company and their products is horrible. VapeWorld should really take notice about this company, because of the way it has treated numerous other customers. I'm not into lawsuits, but I would gladly start a class action against this company for fraud.

Made a sizable investment in what I thought was a well designed portable. Unfortunately, the unit worked 2 months and began leaking butane wildly and won't work - DANGEROUS?

The manufacturer (IOLITE) will not respond or provide any support! After entering a service request on the company website, calling the service line only to get a recording, I learned that the customer service email address is incorrect.

Don't be fooled by good looks with poor functionality.

I've owned this vape for a year and a half and i'm sending it in for warranty repairs for the third time. The first time it was sent in I was sent back a (new) defective one and then after I sent that one back in I got a new working one. THAT TOOK TWO MONTHS.

This only has a two year warranty and there's no available repairs for it after that, even if you're willing to pay.

If i've learnt anything from this experience it's that butane powered vaporizers will eventually die even if you use quality butane. Either that or this vape is just built poorly.

That being said it vaporizes great... If you can actually get it to vaporize...

The butane seemed to be leaking – once I refilled, the device starts sputtering and making a slight hissing sound from the nozzle – even when the unit is off. I only used the butane provided in the shipment – Power 5x. Beware, the only option to replace a defective unit is to go through Iolite Customer Service. I have been waiting 19 days for a replacement. My neighbor bought the Arizer Solo and I have total buyer's remorse. For $20 more you will get a quieter, variable temp setting, butane-free device.

....and I own the digital Volcano, which I recommend highly and only, but this little angel is heaven in your hand. I would save the afternoon you first receive this getting to know your new BFF Also, to get familiar with it you do need to use it, so don't make any plans that day. This said, have a ball. This is fast, small, efficient and with the optimizer Vapeworld throws in, along with a new shiny heavy duty grinder and everything you will need to keep doing the best thing for you and your body. This gives me the portable opportunity my Volcano just doesn't have. We are going on a weekend away and now I have no worries, you can use this anywhere. Literally. Really. Easy ordering, 5 days and it was mine forever, and I purchased another for my real life BFF! GET THIS. Can I be any more emphatic?

i bought my iolite bout 4 months ago. at first i couldnt get it to light. turns out i was using the wrong kind of butane. i got a new kind and have had no problems since. would recommend to any body who wants to vape on the go

I love my iolite. I paid $169.99 for it and it works great. iolite has upgraded the parts that were breaking so some of the bad reviews it got - those issues have been fixed

This is great but it will not work at altitudes above 5216. Check it out on their website. I love the extreme vaporizer. It works at high altitudes but it not very portable.

I have had my iolite Vaporizer for some time now and it continues to work smoothly and efficiently. I truly like the mobility of this portable vape.

this thing is awsome! the bad reviews i have read have all had a self inflicted problem...such as " mine doesn't light...but i dropped it out of my pocket"....or "it is to hard to put the two pieces together"....basically if you have good common sense this is the vape for you.

It is very easy to use and portable (fits in your pocket) I have used it in a movie theater and even walking through the super market!

It may be pricey but it is worth every penny in my opinion...i know people who use it every day and have no problems with it.

Device is awesome, BUT stem is fragile, and mine snapped off already. Besides that, perfect for a grown professional. It takes you a bit to get used to putting in the butane, AND REMEMBER to use at least 4 times filtered butane, if not 5!

This is my second portable vaporizer. I bought a Vapir Oxygen Mini about 3 years ago and was overall disappointed with its performance. It never gave good hits and was awkward to load and carry around, as it needed a battery pack and cord if you wanted to take it on the go. I had almost given up on portable vaporizers until I heard about this one on a podcast. I decided to give it a try after all the reviews on here. Man I’m glad I did.

For those who are talking about the cheap plastic, yes, it is very light and would seem cheap just because it's lightweight, but it's not. Remember the plastic parts come in contact with chambers that get up to 375 degrees...this aint some crap made in China plastic..its high grade. When you think about all the things this little hand grenade is doing inside, you realize it's a very high quality device.

Of course the be all end all of a vaporizer is the draws it gives. This thing hits like a champion. You have to remember a few things when using this unit, or you may get frustrated and think it's not working. First, the 45 second thing, forget it. I turn the unit on and remove the chamber, and then prepare my material carefully while it's heating up. I let it run for at least 3 or 4 minutes before I insert the chamber back in. Then, take some slow draws. The first draw will be very flavorful, but no visible vapor will come out when you exhale. As you go, less flavor will come out but more white colored vapor will begin to form. Using this thing for all it's worth takes time...I usually hit it for a good 20 minutes each time I vape. Your best draws will start coming after about 10 minutes. Trust me, those people who hit it for 5- min and then shut it off and declare the things a piece of sh*t just aren't doing it right. It's best to take really long draws (I usually inhale slowly for 5-10 seconds each time...and then i hold it for about 3-5 seconds before exhaling) I have taken draws for 20 seconds, held them for 10, and I haven't coughed once hitting this thing. I've even found myself taking draws like that, one after another, two or three times in a row without taking a breath in between...no problem. Believe me, once you get this thing primed and going..you will get phat draws of vapor coming out every time for 10-15 minutes straight. It is VERY efficient with any material..sometimes I get 2 sessions out of one little pack. Just keep hitting it and have faith...you will get consistent thick vapor but you have to keep it going for a while.

Perhaps the best thing about this unit is the portability. The Vapir Mini was "portable", but looked like a flute with a long phone cord coming off of it leading to a box...not exactly stealth. This thing is so low key you could vape in public with no worries. Get the 15 inch vinyl tubing with it..and get a 32oz Moe's or Baja Fresh to-go cup, drop this bad boy in, and use the vinyl tube as your "straw" for your drink. Good to go. I even take this to the beach and sit in my little tent puffing away; no one's the wiser. This thing is awesome.

The accessories that come with it are also very quality. The magnet latch for the pouch inside the carrying case is a nice touch. (No tearing velcro sound...even more DL) All in all the iolite has revived my faith in vaporizing. I may never smoke again. When you think about how often you can take this thing (in the car, hiking, boating, beach, skiing) with you, the price really is a non-issue. How much do you spend a year on your cellphone? $500? $800? $1000? For $200 to get years of vaporizing enjoyment is really a bargain. I would not hesitate to recommend this vaporizer to anyone. Now that I've been talking about it for so long....time to pack it up! Happy vaping!

I really don't like this unit.

I dislike how the chamber fits, or doesn't, especially when you are trying to use it. It is awkward and clumsy, and wastes vapor while you try to get the two pieces to fit together.

Heat wise, this unit doesn't get near proper vaporization temperatures for many different types of material even after 10 minutes.

Concept wise, I like the idea of using butane power to generate a steady temperature, I just think this unit really needs the ability to change the temperature the unit stabilizes at.

Also, the chamber needs to be redesigned and tapered so you aren't fumbling while you try to get the two pieces together so you can get on with vaping. Problems loading this unit and the long heat up time and the low temperature all contribute to my recommendation for most people to shop around before selecting this unit.

Although my overall review of this unit is negative, I feel the overall design is sound, and with a few minor adjustments in manufacturing, this could be an excellent unit. With the current chamber and low temperatures, this unit misses the mark of what could be an excellent product.

I've only had it a week or so but if it lasts, it's fantastic. It is easy to use and works great. It is a little more difficult to use than my Budda, and doesn't handle the quantity of the Budda, but it is portable and fits in a pocket! Just a great product.

awesome device! love it. however, the $250 for a self contained butane lighter is insane!! Looking over the device one can tell they cost less than $30 to produce one. additional, Mine fell out of my coat pocket for the first time and now it no longer works. if your not rich like me, spend the $250 on a home vaporizer and look for less expensive, easy to replace portable vaporizers. Please keep in mind that a portable vap WILL get bumped and banged when its being passed around in the car or when going for a walk. take my advice go for a cheaper portable and spend big on the home vap.

I love mine. I admit it took me a little while to learn how to use ut, but now it does the trick when I use it. I have learned to get great vape draws and the fuel last a long time. The Customer Service of Vape World is excellent.

The Iolite

The Iolite is a self contained hand held vaporizer. It runs off of butane fuel. It runs for a very long time off a tiny refill. If I had to use one word to describe the Iolite it would be “efficient”. It’s one of the most efficient vaporizers. It does an outstanding job of maintaining the proper temperature. The one thing I would recommend though is to use good butane. I have read on forums others that experienced the same issue as I did when they didn’t use good butane. I tried using Ronson butane from a Multi-Fill can. All I can tell you is my Iolite stopped functioning properly. It was as though the Iolite wasn’t getting hot enough. I don’t know if it was because of the impurities in the butane. All I can tell you is when emptied it and refilled it with Vector Brand Butane my little Iolite started to churn out some serious vapor. I’m sure there are plenty of other top quality butane’s out there; and I definitely think it’s worth the money to buy good butane. (One that’s been filtered at least 3X. I see some like Vector claim to be 5X filtered.) Is the Iolite perfect…No…for starters they really should change the design of the filling chamber. It would be nice to see it “clip” on to the device in a way that you can’t accidently slip it off while it’s full. I am sure it would be a simple modification. For now, I make sure and hold my index finer locked over the top (like I am pressing down on a button) so it can’t accidentally come apart. If you want a great vaporizer, that’s also portable…Get the Iolite…it’s truly amazing…

Very confusing as the directions for use are not clear.

I've owned this unit a year now and it's my portable go to unit. I agree there's a learning curve but it's worth it. The best advice I can give about this unit is to cycle the off/on switch after a few minutes. This extends your butane and material and helps to prevent the plastic pieces from melting. One of my draw tubes actually melted at the screw in base and snapped off. Not a huge deal but a hassle. Other than that this has been a very good investment, besides my Volcano.

This is my first vaporizer and I'm all but in love. Its small, heats up quickly and does a decent job at vaporizing my blends. The world of vaporization has opened up so many other doors of remedies, I don't think Ill EVER go back to smoking. My only complaint about this unit is the price vs the longevity of the unit. I don't expect this to last a lifetime, but its plastic body still makes me a bit nervous. (Although a buddy dropped it, and it didn't miss a beat!)
If you take in to account the portability factor, and stealth factor its a GREAT vaporizer!

i had two iolite vaporizer both stop working about 2 month after i got it. one of my friend also bought one shortly after i got because he was so pleased with but his also broke. i would not recommend this vaporizer and would look for a more durable one

I've had mine for about 1.5 yrs and i love it. my product lasts three times as long. i would recommend only filling the chamber 2/ 3rds full, and use a good grinder to prepare your product. I use the iolite outside my home and the volcano in my home. I don't think ill ever smoke again

This is an excellent alternative to the Volcano for individual or 2-person use. Very easy to use. I only give 4 stars for ease-of-use because it was difficult to figure out how to use it (instructions not very good) and very hard to figure out how to clean it. Once I got it mastered, I have loved it! Much better for my lungs than even the Volcano, IMHO.

when it come to convenience this unit cant be beat., you can take it anywhere and use it with ease. Its not really a party unit, its more for personal use. Oh yeah and the guy on the phone at vapeworld was great help too !!!
